The
Behaviourist Approach to Psychology is probably the most simple (hence tackling
it first). There are four main assumptions of this approach:
- Classical Conditioning
- Operant Conditioning
- Observable/Measurable/Empirical
Evidence
- Stimulus/Response
The
behavourist approach is based on learning theory. It assumes that all behaviour
is learned - we are born a ‘blank slate’ and everything about us is determined
by our environment.
