Topic 1: BEHAVIOURISM


The Behaviourist Approach to Psychology is probably the most simple (hence tackling it first). There are four main assumptions of this approach:
  • Classical Conditioning
  • Operant Conditioning
  • Observable/Measurable/Empirical Evidence
  • Stimulus/Response
The behavourist approach is based on learning theory. It assumes that all behaviour is learned - we are born a ‘blank slate’ and everything about us is determined by our environment.
